June 2020 | Search Engine Optimization: Is your site on Google's Index?

SEO, defined here, is a methodology of strategies, techniques and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors (traffic) to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine-- such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex (RU) or Baidu (CH).

Sure, you can make time to optimize SEO for every search engine, but the reality is that Google own's 92% of the world's global market share in search engine traffic. Similarly, Google boasts 88% of the US market share alone.

SEO is a nebulous mountain of metrics, data collection, and time.How do you double your website traffic overnight? By either purchasing fake traffic (which incurs SEO penalties from Google) or by implementing a highly effective Social Media Marketing campaign.

To optimize Google's indexing algorithms, you need to understand and implement SEO strategies that will result in your site being the most informative, concise, yet optimally visible to Google's bots.

To best optimize your time and effect, I recommend reading and applying Google's Webmaster Guidelines before building any website.

May 2020 | Vue to a kill

Vue.js, is an open-source model–view–viewmodel JavaScript framework for building user interfaces and single-page applications.

The key attribute here being reactivity, from which the popular JavaScript framework React.js gets its name.

Specific to Vue, is the v-bind directive which is used to reactively update an HTML attribute.

Vue.js, is thus a strikingly similar design framework to React, the seminal front-end design language upon which the entirety of Facebook was built upon.

pip install -U itsdangerousAs I utilized in my project, Encourage, itsdangerous is a python library that supplies a url serializer.In cases where user information could be easily spoofed, technology like the url serializer offers hashed tokens that substitute for UID's.As in my project, Encourage, in instances where the UID could be guessable, itsdangerous loads the advocate's UID in one route, then dumps an encrypted token in it's place.In my experience, the tech works flawlessly and will be utilized in my future projects.

Mar. 2020 | Remove .html extensions from templates on Github Pages Sites

One of my mentors pointed out that my website urls all include .html extensions.In all my research, retooling, and freelancing efforts, the idea that my website was including a superfluous file extension never occured to me. The devil is always in the details.

This interactive shopping cart experience hosts a dynamic interface hard-coded and designed entirely in Vue JavaScript.

Here, the user can add or subtract items from their cart, view and create product reviews, and display item inventory based on sock color preference.

True Blue Tempe was created as a business advocacy group in support of local police officers.

The original site was built quickly in GoDaddy's early versioned website builder and suffered from a lack of flexibility.

My design implemented hamburger menu, a sponsors page to promote affiliate businesses and back links, and narrowed the unfocused color scheme to a singular brand identity.The result was a mobile-friendly, easily maintained organizational website utilizing SendinBlue's relationship management SaaS to ensure verified receipt of all contact form lead generation.

This site is Adam McKenzie's weekly blog of homemade recipes forged on his Traeger grill.Adam's primary need was for Ad Monetization and SEO improvements.This project required research and mastery of Google Webmaster Guidelines and SEO requirements.

This site evolved from GoDaddy's Content Management System to a complete WordPress rebuild.It's hosted by GoDaddy but has DNS management a la WordPress name servers, which I've learned is too common amongst professional WordPress sites.Due to SEO improvements and Ad Monetization technology, this website is now attracting 1000+ viewers monthly.
